About me

I am 74 years old, happily married, father of two grown children and now a (step)grandfather several times over.

I also worked as a lecturer in the social management major at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, department social pedagogy. As a political scientist, I researched municipal politics in Hamburg (self-help and unemployment movements, labor market policy, health situations, poverty in old age, senior citizen health and health policy as well as youth and family welfare and youth welfare policy). I completed my work in higher education in 2019 with my doctorate with Prof. Dr. Nils C. Bandelow and Prof. Dr. Claus Schubert at the Technical University of Braunschweig.

Way of Life

Healthy nutrition, exercise, living family life, politically and culturally meaningful activities are the foundations of well-being and a satisfying life. And everything is better with humor. I like meditation, reflective conversations, eating and drinking well.

I enjoy meditation, good, deep conversations, and savoring good food and drink. My hobbies include listening to and making music (blues, R&B, soul, smooth jazz) and photography (nature, family, and social photography). I like satire and currently enjoy reading books that deal with social analysis and shaping the future.
